They can heal, preserve, and teach.
Janie Van Komen, author, lecturer, and story master guides you through the maze of your story layers to a place of comfort, peace, and purpose. Learn to lift the layers and engage the gifts, the power, and intent contained in each unique story.

Just released!
Can a simple cookie tin heal wounds, unite family and friends, and bind generations into a tight bond of love, respect, and appreciation? Gracie Richards has just lost her business, her love life, and the relationship she had with her father when she finds an old Dutch Speculaas cookie tin in the family attic.

Gracie is sure they are keys to finding the answers. Just before her business partner who was also her fiancé betrayed her she was contacted by a family friend in Holland. Oscar Everts asked Gracie to assist him create a prototype of her Utah business. Using this as an excuse Gracie takes the tin and goes to Holland. There she is reunited with Derk Van Dyke, a friend she thought she loved long ago, who offers his support in her project. Gracie meets Meta and Eggo Vriese at Church, a mother and son duo who help others discover their historical roots. Oscar and Derk set Gracie up in the house she lived in five years before and they begin to discover the secrets hidden throughout the house while Metta and Eggo decode the messages in the tin.

The parallel story begins with the cookie tin’s origin and three best friend families helping each other survive World War II. Finally, Gracie, her father, and Oma Elle end up in Holland together. With Oma Elle in charge, the secrets of the past and the present are revealed much to the surprise of everybody including Gracie’s father who thought he knew everything. Now Gracie must choose what happens next.
